Reformation Hope Acquires a “Spanish Flavor”!
RHI has sensed for several years that God was calling us to greater commitment to spreading the Gospel among the people just across the border from Haiti – in the Dominican Republic. For two years Pastor Paul has been working with Leon and Dudley in a church located among the Haitian laborers in the Dominican sugar cane plantation known as Batey #4.
But all along our vision has been to reach Dominicans as well as Haitians in the Dominican Republic and now the Lord has opened that door. Jean has partnered with Woody Jean Baptiste in Santiago and with Pastor Renel and Adlina Francisco in Santo Domingo. By God’s grace Reformation Hope is working with three congregations in the Dominican Republic and we expect the Lord to do even greater things than these in the years ahead. Please pray for our expanded ministry, which is now reaching across the entire island of Hispaniola.
Covenant Presbyterian Church
February was a busy month for Reformation Hope, as we were invited to present our mission in Haiti and the Dominican Republic to Covenant Presbyterian Church of Fayetteville, Arkansas. In March we will be sharing with two more congregations; Young Meadows Presbyterian Church of Montgomery, Alabama and Pacific Crossroads of Santa Monica, California. Want us to bring the story of what God is doing with RHI to your church? Contact us at 404-771-9180 or email@example.com to arrange a visit.
Croix-de-Bouquets Restaurant Project Moving Forward
Pastor Jean sends his thanks to all of you and especially to the Lord for the way the restaurant work is coming along. The pace is definitely quickening. Thanks to additional giving in February, Reformation Hope was able to commit another $5,000 to this project, bring the total investment thus far to $30,000. We are excited as this represents more than half of the total projected need to completely finance the start-up of this important employment and income creating business.
Pastor Paul and his crew are in the process of getting tables and chairs for the restaurant and also working on the new flooring. Once the beautiful flooring is completely installed, the work of painting will begin. Jean is asking for prayer and for further investment in this project for the acquisition of kitchen materials and silverware. These items will be essential for the restaurant to be ready for operation by the week of Easter.
Your RHI Support Was Invested Wisely in 2010
We are committed to good stewardship in using the investments you make with us as partners in Reformation Hope. Last year, only 3.2% of contributed funds were used for our ongoing U.S. operation and administration. Everything else was applied to projects and people in Haiti or placed in reserve for the use in 2011. Here is a breakdown of where the money went in 2010.
