Medical Clinic Construction Update

Medical Clinic Construction Update
We continue to see God's marvelous hand at work in the progress of our medical clinic building project. As you can see from the photos, the wall around our new compound has been completed. The next phase of construction has now begun — the digging of the foundation for the clinic building. Our Haitian partners are eagerly preparing for the day of celebration on March 22nd when the cornerstone will be laid in honor of Christ Jesus our chief cornerstone in all things. It is our prayer that this will mark but the first of a series of project milestones, culminating later this year in the ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the opening of this medical outreach to our surrounding community. Many thanks again to the Invisible Hand Foundation (primary funder) and also to Dixie Salvage (providing much of the fixtures and windows). What a mighty God we serve!

Farm and Goat Update
Pastor Jean Paul reports that the shipment of specialized irrigation parts for the farm project have arrived in Port-au-Prince and we are awaiting the containers being cleared through customs. Once Jean has possession of these supplies, he will deliver all of the irrigation system parts to our farmland. At that point, David Youssi, president of Irrigation Without Borders, will return to Haiti to oversee and train our Haitian partners on installation, operation, and maintenance of this new system. We expect God to do great things with our farm productivity through this system.

GoatAt the recent Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group conference in Little Rock, AR., Reformation Hope received some excellent information concerning raising goats for meat production, as well as insights and developments about disease prevention and pasturing nutrition. The visit to the Heifer International ranch was also instructive in helping us understand more about the impact of providing productive animals to Third World families and communities.

Sharing God's Great and Mighty Things with Others
New Presbyterian Church, Pompano Beach, FL., is hosting their annual missions conference this month (March 9–10) and Reformation Hope has been tapped to provide the primary presentation on the work of missions. We thank God for our ongoing partnership with New Presbyterian and with their dedicated missions team. This has been an active year already in terms of missions presentations to our churches. RHI has been blessed to present our kingdom work to Covenant Presbyterian in Fayetteville, AR. and the missions director from First Presbyterian Church in Corinth, MS. as well. If your church is planning a missions conference in the future and you would like to hear the latest on missions in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, please contact us at 404-771-9180 or email martin.hawley@reformationhope.org in order to arrange a presentation or a full mission display set-up. We can tailor presentations or mission messages to specifics about our RHI mission field, or speak more broadly on issues that we have dealt with which relate to Third World missions in general.

Passenger Van Update
We are pleased to report that Pastor Paul located an authorized Ford repair facility to take the handicapped van, which was damaged in the hurricane flooding late last year. The latest report is that the van will be up and running soon, perhaps within a few days of this report. Again we have reason to thank God for this blessed outcome.
