Reformation Hope Launches Bible College Initiative
Bible students in HaitiBy God's grace and provision, RHI's pastor training team intends to launch a Bachelor of Divinity Bible college degree program in Haiti in 2014. This new center for training ministers of the Word and servants of Christ will be called Académie Théologique de le Réforme. Among the priorities of the pastor training team in establishing the Académie are:

  1. Develop a proposed curriculum
  2. Propose a system for tracking student progress and grades
  3. Create a pilot schedule of when courses will be offered
  4. Create a job description for the Haitian assistant who will provide consistent transportation for the professors and also handle any other errands
  5. Develop a list of basic theological resources (books) which can be bundled and provided to each student
  6. Identify the most gifted students to become our inaugural class

While Reformation Hope has partnered with Jean Paul and Souls Winning Ministries since 2007 to bring biblical Reformed training seminars to our Haitian ministerial brethren, our new Académie represents a giant leap forward in ministry preparation. The men who complete the full Bachelor (B.D.) program will have received virtually the same theological training as pastoral students in the United States.

We also hope that once RHI has graduated its first class of Bachelor of Divinity students, we will be able to expand the Bible College into a Masters level seminary. Please pray for this effort going forward. RHI has the potential to eventually train more than 450 minister-students who already receive short-term training from Jean Paul. These men teach an average of 200 Haitians each during the week and thus our new training will impact at least 90,000 brothers and sisters each week as these men share what they have learned with their flocks.

Please prayerfully consider making an investment in our new Bible college. And, as always, please be in prayer for the multiplication of the true gospel of Jesus Christ through the training these ministerial students receive and through their faithful preaching and teaching.

Clinic in HaitiMedical Clinic Update
We are happy to report that the 17,000 pound container load of medical furniture, supplies, and clinic building materials have left the Atlanta, Georgia area and are bound for Port-au-Prince. These materials will help bring us to completion of the medical clinic facility—with the exception of the electrical power system.

This month a representative from Samaritan's Purse will visit our clinic building and develop the engineering and components plans for a solar power system. Samaritan's Purse will then work with us to obtain the solar panels and other necessary parts and get them shipped to Haiti and properly installed on site.

Decorative Iron Grating in WindowBy God's grace we have now hired our medical clinic administrator—Fabienne Goutier, RN. She is now managing our license application with the Haitian government as well as providing counsel on additional personnel and management concerns. Fabienne brings extensive Haitian clinic experience to her work with us and we thank God for providing her to this ministry.

As of this report, we are planning on a late January or early February 2014 opening for the medical clinic. Please pray for the container of clinic supplies and materials for a safe arrival in Port-au-Prince, and for God to soften the hearts of the customs officials and provide us with lower cost importation fees.

Harvest of Hope Farm Update
David Youssi and Jean PaulThis month David Youssi, president of Irrigation Without Borders, is traveling to our farm location in order to install the new SMART technology irrigation system. In support of this initiative, RHI has provided improved fencing to protect the cultivated area and the watering system components from damage by animals or from theft or vandalism by people.

The Souls Winning farm team will be working with David this month in digging the trenches, placing the pipes and sprinkler heads, and in operating this new system. Irrigation Without Borders will also train and assist these farmers in the ongoing maintenance of this system. Local ownership of the project is crucial to its success.

Please pray for the effective installation and operation of this new irrigation system, and for it to accomplish its purpose—greatly expanded cultivation and greatly increased production for our farm team. This will put more food on the children's dinner tables and more funds into Souls Winning Ministries' operating accounts.

New Orphanage Planning
Architectural development continues for the proposed orphanage at the new compound. Once RHI has received the final plans and can calculate material costs, we will move to the fundraising stage with the prayerful hope that God will provide so that we may begin construction of the foundation very soon. Pastor Jean is anxious to move forward with this project, as it offers better living standards and expanded capacity for our orphanage ministry.

Please pray for our architect, Perry Poyner, and for God to move on the hearts and hands of potential donors for this important project.
