Building Project

Several years ago, following a series of evangelistic evening services in the southern coastal town of Jacmel, Rev. Paul and his team were approached by local Christians about establishing a church in the area. After much discussion and prayer, Reformation D'Espoir D'Haiti decided to plant a church in Jacmel to meet the need for a Christ-centered, biblical church. From a start-up of about 50 people, the church has grown to over 200, and now meets in a carpenter's home and attached shop. The space is only adequate for about 50 people to sit inside, and so the rest of the attenders stand or sit outside, or behind the outside wall of the house underneath the protection of the extended roof which acts as the carpenter's workspace. The pastor serving this congregation in Maxito Raphael, a recent top graduate from our Bible college in Marin.

Reformation Hope, as the primary partner with Reformation D'Espoir D'Haiti, has decided in consultation with Rev. Jean Paul, to take on the task of planning and raising funds for a proposed multi-use church, school, and pastors' family residence. Our long-time architect, Nebraskan Perry Poyner, has created a wonderful and cost effective design. We are now in the process of raising funds for purchasing a building site along the main road east of downtown Jacmel, as well as funding needed for the construction phase.
