Help Us Send Christmas Cheer to Our Children in Haiti!
Our Christmas Cheer container for Haiti will be here soon for loading and we need you to help us fill it with all sorts of needed items to bless our New Joy House children. Bring your gifts, dried food items, and other goodies to our loading location and make Christmas brighter for these Haitian boys and girls.
Volunteers Needed to Load Container
Our Christmas container for Haiti will be loaded at Hope Presbyterian Church, 4101 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta, Georgia. We are scheduling volunteers to help load the container Tuesday, December 1 through Thursday, December 3, between 9 am and 5 pm.
The container is scheduled to be picked up on Friday, December 4 and we hope that the container will arrive in Haiti by December 17, so that it can clear customs in time for Christmas week.
Donations Needed
We have some very specific food donation needs; large (25–100 lb.) bags of dried black beans or pinto beans, white rice, sugar, or flour. We also request corn oil in large jugs (2.5 gallon or larger) for cooking, and large boxes of dry spaghetti. A complete list of desired items is available upon request. We are accepting donation drop-offs on Tuesday, December 1 through Thursday, December 3, between 9 am and 5 pm. Or you can contact Martin Hawley to make other arrangements.
Financial Assistance Needed
If you would like to help but cannot volunteer or donate food, we are very much in need of financial donations to help pay for the transportation of the container to Haiti, and for the required customs fees.
If you would like to help in any way, please email Rev. Martin Hawley at rev.hawley@gmail.com. You can also text or call Martin at 404-771-9180.
