Whether you are long-term partners with us for the kingdom in Haiti—or brand new to this mission of Gospel transformation, mercy, and hope—we invite you to invest yourself in impactful ways during this new year 2021. Reformation Hope and our partner Souls Winning Ministries in Haiti depend daily upon your prayers and your financial support. However, there are some very strategically important and specific ways that you can get involved this year:
1. Furniture Loading Help: We have again received the offer of a large load of furniture, items this time which we believe will help the church plant in Jacmel in furnishing a planned facility. We have been promised these items the week of February 22nd. While Reformation Hope can rent a large truck and the furniture will be loaded for us, we are in definite need of volunteers to help us unload the furniture when it arrives at our storage space at Hope Presbyterian Church, 4101 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta, Georgia 30066. If you would like to assist with this effort, please email our executive director, who will know the precise delivery day soon.
2. July and December Containers Food Needed: Reformation Hope will again ship two containers to Haiti—one in late July and one in early December, God willing. We encourage our individual partners and church partners to consider stockpiling bags of rice and dried beans, as well as large jugs of cooking oil and other items, on an ongoing basis until we load the next container sometime in July. This will make the collecting process and the costs easier for everyone and increase participation and quantities. We have been asked by the Presbyterian Church in Marin to specifically include food items for their neediest families along with the food we normally send to support the orphanage. Further details on items needed and more precise timing will be forthcoming. But for now, you can collect the same food items as were collected in 2020.
3. Building a Protective Wall for the Jacmel Church: The church in Jacmel remains in need of its own place to gather for worship. We would like to at least begin constructing a concrete block wall around the building site in preparation for further construction as the funds become available. We estimate the total cost to build such a wall will be in the neighborhood of $30,000. If you would like to give toward this project, please use one of our giving links and simply add a note: “Jacmel Project.”
4. Obtaining a Reliable Used Vehicle: When our brother Jean Paul was tragically killed in August of last year, his vehicle was damaged and required repair. This vehicle is now used by our director of security, Jean’s brother, FanFan (Francius Paul). As a result, the Souls Winning Team and the Presbyterian Church of Marin pastor do not have a reliable vehicle sturdy enough for daily use for errands and for travel between locations. At this point they must pay daily for taptap (taxi-like) transportation. If you would like to help with this need for a reliable used vehicle, please contact our executive director, or you can use one of our giving links and simply add a note: “Used Vehicle.”
