In Memoriam: Sendia and Laurent Traversiere

(Jean Paul’s niece and nephew-in-law)
In May, as the violence in Haiti began increasing, there was a rash of random robbery killings outside banks as desperate criminal elements preyed upon other Haitians. While Rev. Paul was taking our film and photography crew to Jacmel in order to put together a video for our partners about the church planting project, Jean received the news that his niece, Sendia and her husband Laurent had been gunned down in a violent robbery as they left their bank. Both of them died from multiple gunshot wounds. They leave behind three children: Randy Pierre (9), Wilner (6), and Laurence (4). Jean conducted the funeral in which hundreds of people from both churches connected with Sendia and Laurent heard an excellent Gospel message. Please be in prayer for our brother Jean, as he was very close to Sendia and she was very involved serving in the church in La Plaine.
